主讲人简介:卜东波 教授,中科院计算所生物信息学研究组,高级研究员,博士生导师。承担863课题“功能基因组”,NSFC课题“基于随机场的蛋白质结构预测新算法”,NSFC重大课题“非规范知识处理”子课题,973生物信息学课题等科研项目。在算法设计与分析方面成果丰硕,在SAT问题理论和算法、信息检索、生物信息学等多个方向内容发表SCI 论文40余篇。
讲座摘要:Multistage mass spectrometry ( MSn ) can yield glycan fragments at consecutive stages, thus allowing identification of glycan branching patterns. However, automatic glycan identification by MSn poses two considerable challenges, i.e. how to select precursor-ion to guide MSn experiments, and how to deduce glycan branching patterns using the generated spectra. To facilitate automatic glycan identification, we proposed an intelligent precursor-ion selection strategy (GIPS). Using our GIPS strategy, we successfully used to identify branching patterns for seven glycans representing three major types, for a pair of isomeric glycans, as well as for glycans in complex mixtures isolated from glycoproteins. In conclusion, our GIPS strategy should greatly facilitate the automatic identification of glycan branching patterns, and significantly improve identification sensitivity and throughput.
